If you caught Montreal indie-poppers Islands at SXSW this year (or at their return appearance in May), you know that they throw down Canadian-indie-style (which is to say, with way more people on stage than is necessary).
Seriously though, Islands are a pants-wettingly good live act. We might even go so far as to say that they're better live than they are on disc; on stage, their occasionally cheesy angular quirkiness is taken over by their hard-rockin' enthusiasm, and the band's bouncy, unrestrained energy adds a whole new dimension to the sharp pop arrangements they laid down on Return To The Sea.
Islands will be hitting Emo's outside stage tomorrow night for what is sure to be an awesome show. They'll be joined by Columbus Hip Hop act Blueprint and quasi-Montreal hip hoppers Subtitle. But wait - there's more! Your ticket also gets you into the indoor show, featuring Les George Leningrad, Gil Mantera's Party Dream, Grand Buffet and Duchess Says.
