Austinist Preview and Giveaway: The Rapture and The Presets at Emo's

rapture.jpg

The Rapture have toggled several genre tags since the success of “House of Jealous Lovers” in 2002. Call it what you like, we believe their specialty of infectious electro-rock is totally relevant and absolutely imperative in today's music landscape. The band’s tradition of danceable ditties continues with their new album, Pieces Of The People We Love. Ideal for the dance floor, the record grooves, funks, and yes, even punks. High-pitched yowls and howls, set to synth-laden beats, insistent percussion and the occasional horns make for a great live show. The Presets, no slouches themselves, having garnered nominations for four DMA Awards and two Aria Awards, support The Rapture this evening and prepare for the launch of Presets Resets (you guessed it, a remix album).

Enter below to win tickets and dance the night away come sundown.

Congratulations, Mercedes!
