B. Iden Payne Awards: The Winners!

acot.jpg

Last night, Austin's theatre denizens gathered at Zach Scott Theater for the annual B. Iden Payne Awards ceremony. A function of Austin Circle of Theaters, every fall the BIPpies recognize outstanding work on Austin's stages. This year's ballot was chock full of amazing talent—undoubtedly the voting public had some difficult choices to make. With a fabulous ceremony helmed by Andrea Skola and the women of Shrewd Productions, and featuring commentary from the always-funny Buzz Moran and LB Deyo, a good time was had by all. Theaters large and small picked up awards, and Dr. Oscar Brockett, respected and beloved Professor of Theatre and Dance, was inducted as the 2006 Honoree for Outstanding Contribution to Theatre and Performing Arts. Word on the street is that no one wanted to go home at the end of the evening. The thespian set wanted to party all night? We're shocked.

Without further ado, clicky to see the list of last night's lucky winners!
