Stubb’s Is Kind of Crazy With a Spooky Little Boy Like Trey

trey.jpgFor almost two decades, legendary jam band Phish made an annual tradition of throwing one of the best musical Halloween bashes in the land. The band went their separate ways at the dawn of the millennium, but former frontman Trey Anastasio carries on the tradition of bringing a spooky good time to his phans. While still heavily rooted in the rollicking rock and roll tradition, Anastasio’s band adds a bluesy feel not found in his previous projects.

Trey’s lineup, which includes Tony Hall (bass player from Dumpstaphunk), longtime Anastasio friend and collaborator Ray Paczkowski on keys, and Vermont vocalists Christina Durfee and Jennifer Hartswick, is supplemented on this tour with drummer Jeff Sipe. The highly-respected drummer, who made a name for himself with Aquarium Rescue Unit, has gigged with hundreds of notable musicians and has a deserved reputation in the industry as one of the best in the biz.

Anastasio and Co. rocked Vegoose last night, and tomorrow night they bring the fun to Stubb’s, and with a day off on Wednesday, they are sure to keep things grooving into the late hours of the night.

And in the tradition of Stubb's and Anastasio Halloween Phun, $500 goes to the groover with the best costume.
