Clifford Antone Day Ceremony at Antone's Original Location

Clifford Antone’s impact on Austin’s music scene was unequalled. The late founder of the Antone’s blues club and label matched wits with plenty of legends like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Pinetop Perkins, Fats Domino and Muddy Waters since moving to Austin from Port Arthur in 1968. Antone, who would have turned 57 today, will be honored on Saturday afternoon at his club's original location, at Sixth Street and Brazos. Mayor Will Wynn is scheduled to dedicate a plaque to the icon and the date will forever be declared Clifford Antone Day in the capitol city. Obviously, live music is promised, and the event is free.

I don't see how his impact on the music scene was "unheralded". Not only was there a cover story in the Chronicle, but local TV and radio stations all did stories on Antone all week long. KUT featured segments and plugs dedicated to him for weeks afterwards. You can't possibly be referring to his life, as he was a prominent and sought after mover and shaker of the scene.
