How funny. I had this vague memory--so vague that I thought I might have imagined it--of seeing a camel at 6th & Lamar one day. This was the same week I saw a peacock on Oltorf. I hadn't lived here very long, and it freaked me out a bit.

On another note, I think it's odd that people think the city has anything to do with this.

I think the city should leave the shell of an Intel building standing as a reminder of what happens when irrational booms turn to busts. Of course, we could get a new half-built reminder in the next few years as the condo boom goes busts. Wonder if all of those new towers will be completed?

Yep...another example of Austin's quirkiness down the tubes. Wonder what happened to the Camel.

Wasn't the site a car dealership at one time? I think it's the location where a car dealer used to stand on the curb with a camel on a leash to get attention.
