Hailing from the great white north (Canada, not Plano) where inspiring bands just seem to be multiplying by the hundreds, Broken Social Scene and Do Make Say Think roll into town this week to play a show at Stubb's.
The beauty of BSS is that the band is in constant metamorphosis based on who shows up on stage that night. Ranging from anywhere from 4 to 17 band members, Broken Social Scene’s music has been described as everything from folky pop symphonies to psychedelic electronica. As Forrest Gump’s Mama once said, “you just never know what you’re gonna get.” You will, however, be guaranteed a show not to be missed and one where it wont be repeated ad nauseum night after night in Houston, Denver, Seattle, or Ottawa.
Opening for Broken Social Scene is the amazing-in-their-own-right Canadian instrumental band (it has to be something in the water) Do Make Say Think. Their diverse sound is a hybrid of many different influences and the result is one of depth and intensity.
So bring your blunt beer coozie and come chill. If nothing else, come see just how many band members each band can fit on stage. Oh, and don't pay for it, either, let us give you a pair of tickets:
Congrats, L!
