Celebrate The Right To Marry This Saturday
He's a comedian, a novelist, an ordained minister, a dad, a husband, and a walker through Spain (ask him about that walking trip sometime). What's isn't Owen Egerton? If you ask that question, one of your answers won't be a member of hot local boy band Cedar Fever. And, as if he isn't busy enough already, he's one of the main dudes behind The Right to Marry, an awesome organization whose goal "...is to promote state and national awareness of the bigoted nature of anti same-sex marriage legislation and announce that there are those willing to stand against a flawed and prejudiced system." Amen.
This Saturday night at Ruta Maya you can catch Owen and his boy band, along with lots of other cool folks, while benefitting The Right to Marry and showing your support for equal rights. Amen, again.

The best damn benefit of the year! Ruta Maya, Saturday, October 14th, doors open at 8pm. Southpaw Jones, Abi Tapia, Stanley Roy and the Piglovers, Cedar Fever (Austin's hottest Boy Band!), Odyssey (the Ultimate Journey cover band) and Damp Heat will be performing. Owen Egerton (of the Sinus Show… he's also in the boy band) will be hosting the night. As well as music they'll be opportunities to learn about some of the groups in Austin working towards equal rights for all Texans. Perfect for pre-election info gathering. All that for only $5! Can you afford not to go? Proceeds will benefit The Right to Marry collective ( www.therighttomarry.com). A collaboration of groups and individuals standing up against unjust marriage legislation and moving towards a larger event in February as part of National Freedom to Marry Week.
