Austinist Named Best Local Entertainment Web Site in Austin Chronicle's Readers' Poll
We really weren’t expecting this, so we had nothing prepared (except for this little scribbled-upon cocktail napkin). But, we do want to thank a few people…
First and foremost, thanks to all of our readers who voted Austinist as the Best Local Entertainment web site in the Austin Chronicle's Readers' Poll. Each of our wonderful contributors, as you may have read, does this for the sheer enjoyment derived from promoting and celebrating the creative community of the city we all love. We thank you for reading the site, for without your continued interest, we’d all have to find other hobbies, and that sounds like a lot of work.
Also, much thanks to the Austin Chronicle for recognizing that there is room enough on the entertainment block for both of us to exist.
Now, for the disclaimer: We actually tied for the honor. With the Chronicle itself. There’s an old saying in sports that tying is “like kissing your sister.” That phrase always struck us as a little hillbillyish; we like to see it as being more like getting to third base with the person who never calls you back. We’ll take what we can get. The publication probably could’ve just recognized themselves, so a tip of the hat to you, AC.
