First Look at Grindhouse

After months of rumors, rumblings and hubbub, we're finally starting to see some actual footage from the new Robert Rodriguez / Quentin Tarantino collaboration Grindhouse. Last night's Spike TV Scream Awards (hosted by the Girls of Grindhouse: Rosario Dawson, Rose McGowan and Marley Shelton) gave viewers a short sneak peek at the upcoming film, and of course it took less than 24 hours for someone to post that shit to GooTube.

This quasi-trailer is our first real look at the film, and all we can say is...WOW. Machete-throwing heroes, killer zombies, gun-legged amputees, blood, tits and Tom Savini - Grindhouse looks like the ultimate combination of everything fun and cool about Rodriguez and Tarantino films, plus a dash of ridiculous thrown in for good measure. Most, if not all of the footage looks to be from the Rodriguez-directed half, Planet Terror, but that's probably because Tarantino only recently wrapped up filming of his contribution, Death Proof.

The scenes with Danny Trejo throwing machetes and blowing shit up look to be from one of the "fake trailers" scattered throughout the film - and we can only assume that this particular bit was directed by Rodriguez as well.
