- Come celebrate indigenous and mestizo contributions in the 3rd Annual Dia de la Raza celebration tonight from 7-10:30 at the Pavilion at Fiesta Gardens, featuring East L.A. band Quetzal and Austin-native Maneja Beto. Poetry readings, a Latino community group fair and refreshments are included.
- The latest hot-button issue: Christian Deitering, president of the Longhorn Hellraisers, used his Capitol connections to destroy the Texas A&M University pep rally traditionally held on the South side of the Capitol building. Deitering, described by a fellow Hellraiser as a "Van Wilder, 7-year-senior-type", reserved the spot as a way to stick it to the Aggies and to complete his “crowning achievement”. Although Deitering’s plan is to hold a university-wide rally on Thanksgiving morning, it is unclear whether anyone will actually show up.
- The Queer Student Alliance presents Pride Week ’06. Events kicked off Monday with a Pride Rally on the West Mall and will continue through next week.
- UT Law established a new Community Development Clinic designed to help law students hone law skills while fighting systemic causes of poverty. The legal projects deal with real estate, taxes, contract and nonprofit incorporation matters.
