By George Among GQ Magazine Top 100 Men's Clothing Shops

storymain.jpgAustin luxe clothier By George was recently added to GQ Magazine's ongoing list of America's Top 100 Shops for Men, joining the likes of NYC's Bergdorf Goodman, SF's American Rag, and Dallas/Houston's Billy Reid:

If you ever find yourself in Texas and in need of a Dries Van Noten jacket, look no further. Matthew and Katy Culmo’s minimalist designer paradise—itself the work of several noted artists and architects, not to mention a “lighting designer”—has been Austin’s sole destination for designer clothes for almost thirty years. AG denim is stocked alongside preppy essentials from Trovata and Michael Kors. But be forewarned: That soft dressing-room lighting means everything you try on will probably look good.

Yeah, the men's section is gonna close soon. I wonder if there will be a crazy sale before it does. Until then I'll just keep buying my 3-packs of plain white t-shirts at TJ Maxx.

Hurry - run and get your $200 plain white t-shirts. Oh wait, nevermind, 2nd street will provide that from now on.

It's amusing that the two posters above are Cash Money and Cheese Spender - how appropriate

I hear they will stop selling men's clothing by the end of the year. Not too many shopping days left.

  • Cash Money

Ha! Nice. It'd be even better if ByGeorge planned ot continue selling men's clothing. From my conversations with several reliable sources they will soon doscontinue selling men's apparel.
