Jeebus, it's hard to believe it's October already. Here are our picks for the first week of this month:

Scott at Huevos Rancheros thought the matchup (or lack thereof) this past Saturday was slightly pitiful.
We wish another pointless dotcom luck in finding tickets to the Texas/OU game in Dallas.
Veronica Mars is back, and I Can Kick Your Ass at Trivial Pursuit is all over it.
Austin Skate Notes has an update on skate parks being built in our region(-ish).

Random Favorite Blog of the Week: I Blame the Patriarchy. It pretty much delivers what it promises.

Thanks for linking my blog (another pointless dotcom)! As for the search for tickets, it ended successfully; I found and bought the four tickets I needed.

I should add the following advice to my posting: have patience. Ticket prices have continued to drop as we near the event.
