Fresh Plus Clarksville is awesome!! But I will try this place out. Sounds a lot like the little place on South Congress --whatsit-- Farm to Market?

This store makes no sense. Everything is gourmet/insanely overpriced. Even though it's a stones throw away, I do not shop there. Word to the wise Royal Blue, make this place affordable, accessible, dare I say it..ordinary, carry normal everyday produce and product. If not, the instant somebody downtown does, you're going out of business.

Wheatsville sucks - fails the Lucky Charms test and any number of other sensible ones.

The perfect urban grocer is the Fresh Plus in Clarksville. (Yes, some derisively mock their produce, but they have the basic staples AND they have all of the basic needs covered, even if you're an evil consumer of processed foods).

The FP in Hyde Park on the other hand sucks. Not as bad as Wheatsville, but pretty close.

Don't get us wrong, we love Whole Foods, but recent Bodega-style corner shops like P&K Market and the like remind us that, yeah, we don't always need to walk 100 paces to choose among 25 nut butters or 26 varieties of tofu to have a good lunch.

Um, what about Wheastville? It's cozy, and it's been around for 30 years. It also has the added bonus of being co-operatively owned.

Nope. I wrote what I meant. 1000 sq. ft. It's going to be cornershop style.

Do you mean 10,000 square feet? A thousand sq. ft. is 20'X 50', about the size of a typical 1 BR apartment.
