Hook a Big Brother (and Sister) Up, Eat a Burger This Weekend

pterry.jpgHeading to the Festival this weekend? You’re gonna be hungry, and while the crunchy chicken cones, Amy’s Ice cream and barbeque are all deloosh, you might wanna consider grabbing a P. Terry’s burger on that walk down Barton Springs. Or, maybe just hit it up on the way back from the fest, bleary-eyed and starving.

All proceeds from Saturday’s sales at P. Terry’s will go to the Big Brothers & Sisters of Central Texas. Kudos to Mr. Terry, whose heart is obviously in the right place, as he gives profit from what should be a record-setting day of sales to an excellent organization.

We suggest doubling up on the meat and throwing some pickles, jalapenos and grilled onions on it.

Also, check out the commercial clips on their site, produced by the fellas over at SuperAlright!

P. Terry’s
404 South Lamar (at Barton Springs)

  • Duh

Yeah. Stupid heads. The rule is that you can only talk about a place for up to 3 days after it's opened, and only if it's never been mentioned in print before, and only if it's really popular because otherwise you're a "hipster doofus." Duh. That's the unwritten rule that EVERYONE follows. And if you don't do it you're a dumbass. So. yeah. Get with the program.

  • to be fair, we first talked about the place over a year ago.

  • odam

the post was about all profits going to Big Brothers & Sisters tomorrow, jackass, not about being a hipster.

  • Jab Wocky

No, it's a jab. That place has been open for months upon months. Yes, it's good. Don't y'all live near there? Not as kitsch as Reedo's, but still worth being hipster about. Where's my FlavorPill?

  • odam

not sure if that was supposed to be a jab for running this after the chronicle or not. i had to much IZZE last night. we noticed the sign up at p terry's last week and decided we would tell people about it on friday, as they tend to have short memories. what was i talking about?

  • You are awesome

Hey, cool! This is just like I read in the Chronicle's food section yesterday during lunch. Thanks, Austinist!
