Enjoy ACL from the Comfort of Home

Didn’t want to spend your hard-earned cash for ACL ducats this year? Or maybe you have to work, and can’t get away from that computer to which you’re chained. Whatever the case may be, if you aren’t heading down to Zilker Park this weekend, you can still catch several of the ACL performances broadcast live over the intranets.

AT&T will be airing exclusive content at their Blue Room portal beginning tomorrow with the first day of the festival. Not being big fans of horrific heat or massive crowds of dirty people, we checked out some of Cocahella and Bonnaroo at Blue Room and were not disappointed.

Currently, artists scheduled to be featured live in the blue room include Austin's-own Ghostland Obervatory, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, John Mayer, Muse, the Flaming Lips, Son Volt, Thievery Corporation, Ben Kweller, Los Lobos, Aimee Mann, Jack Ingram, KT Tunstall, String Cheese Incident and more. Just imagine it: You will have a front-row seat to all the action - so much so that you may even be able to hear the thought process going through SCI’s Kang’s head as he rips-off Trey Anastasio almost lick for lick - without having to be surrounded by hippies on ketamine and acid.

The Blue Room will also feature a 24-hour streaming radio station featuring interviews and shows by past and present ACL artists and on-site promotional opportunities for concert attendees.

Through AT&T’s Project D.U. site the company will also feature ACL blog updates from Victoria Welch, the winner of AT&T Project D.U.’s “Official Field Blogger” contest. A professional writer whose work has been featured on BlogCritics.org and in the pages of the Burlington Free Press, Welsh’s misadventures are recounted regularly on Revelry, the personal blog she has maintained since 2001.

Webcasts will run from 12:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. each day. Following the event, much of the content will be archived on the blue room allowing fans to relive their favorite festival performances.
