Former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay just won't go away. The former bug exterminator fired his latest salvo in the "culture war" recently, and this one's a doozy. Apparently the loathsome deposed Congressman has begun what we assume will be his natural next career move: consulting.
In an email to his conservative constituency, DeLay urged his supporters to vote for Sara Evans. Congressional candidate? No. School board candidate? Nope. Sugarland city council? Guess again.
Sara Evans is a contestant on Dancing With the Stars. The country crooner sang at the Republican Convention in 2004, and according to DeLay, "represents good American values." We assume that means she doesn't lie or take bribes. It's all so confusing.
But DeLay's misplaced energies are fueled by more than just his support of one "dancer"; his passion is equally informed by his disgust of her competitor, one Jerry Springer.
"One of her opponents on the show is ultra-liberal, talk-show host Jerry Springer," DeLay wrote in his paranoid email. "We need to send a message to Hollywood and the media that smut has no place on television by supporting good people like Sara Evans."
DeLay can't get his slimy ass out of the public consciousness fast enough. With staggering gas prices, a war (or two) being waged, Texas' latest ranking as one of the poorest and dumbest states in the Union, etc., you'd think DeLay wouldn't feel the need to be so petty as to lend his voice to such ridiculous matters. But, apparently, there's a bigger war happening here in the states. A cultural war.
Hey Tom, take you, your bribes, your disingenuous concern for the welfare of America, and your holier-than-thou attitude, and just take it all away, mate.
We're not sure where DeLay is these days, but if you want to try and give him a piece of your mind regarding his asinine behavior, try one of the contacts listed after the jump.
