News Bits!

  • California's Senate just passed a greenhouse gas cap. That means Arnold Schwarzenegger has saved the world, at least until the late-model Terminator recoalesces out of the tiny little metallic beads that are scattered all over the floor and creeps up behind him...where were we? Oh yeah, science.
  • Remember the Valerie Plame case? Richard Armitage was responsible for the initial leak. Anticlimax.
  • Universal Music to offer free song downloading. People who still non-ironically like Eminem should be dancing in the streets.
  • RadioShack classily and efficiently fires employees via email.
  • Vanilla Ice has been reduced to playing shows in frat houses. Meet up after school at Becky's and we'll shave lines into our eyebrows in solidarity.

A big +1 to TC for that addition.

  • TON LOC!!!!!!!!

SNOW was damn good too. He could rap like a kid out in a hurricane. Quite possibly the best Jamaican Caucasian Canadian to ever be forgotten.

I honestly hope you got eh joke in my post.

Mike Jones AND COOLIO!!! They both played the frat house! MIKE JONES!

  • anon

    Who?

  • Jack

Let's not forget that Mike Jones was playing a UT frat house less than five months ago and he's one of the hottest rappers out right now. And I don't think playing frat houses really compares to those artists that have been featured at 16th birthday parties on MTV. At least Vanilla hasn't done that . . . at least not as far as we know.

  • All this Vanilla Whatever mumbo-jumbo is a waste of time because Ton Loc is far, far, far and away a much more impressive talent than anyone listed anywhere on the interdigitubes. Ever before, or on into the future.

    Wild Thing 4eva.

I don't have exact figures but I can tell you that I know Vanilla sold over 12 million roecords or so just from the Ice Ice baby record. Bob Schneider on the other hand lets say, has half of his total record sales coming from local Austin shelves.

  • odam

i guess record sales do equal artistic credibility. thanks, anon. you are the greatest contrarian there is. if only you had record sales numbers so that we might prove it once and for all.

You know what's funny about people trying to make fun of Vanilla. They usually come up with idiot comments that fail to do so. While I'm not saying he's a great talent, do you make fun of Bob Schneider or Reckless Kelly or Pat Green when they play the Fiji house on campus or parties for their friends. Okay - yes it's funny, but Vanilla was still bigger in record sales than any of the previous artists I mentioned.
