Reminder: Mark Your Calendars and Turn Off Your Monitors: Austin Blogger Happy Hour Tomorrow at Club de Ville

What with Memorial Day or Labor Day coming up this weekend, we've teamed up with the lovely folks over at BlogBurst to host an Austin Blogger Happy Hour on Thursday, over at Club de Ville.

The product of local tech company Pluck, BlogBurst syndicates some of the internet's top blogggers onto major media sites (think The Washington Post, SF Gate) and other "top-tier online destinations." For bloggers, it represents a tremendous opportunity to have their content seen by a much larger audience, while traditionally stodgy publishers have embraced the BlogBurst model as they're able to develop a bit of internet street cred with this wider variety of voices. There are considerable details behind all of this, full of terms like "Web 2.0" and "APIs" and other things that befuddle us, but the company's basic goal we're pretty sure we understand: it's meant to bridge the divide between the blogging community and the mainstream media, which increasingly are evolving to resemble one another.

But back to the important point: booze. BlogBurst and Austinist are so terribly keen on meeting all of you effervescent expositors of electronic effluvia that we're buying you an ice-cold beer if you're one of the first 20 bloggers to show up.
