The City of Austin unveiled its newest online employment application system this past weekend. Dubbed the "Electronic City of Austin Resource for Equal Employment and Recruiting," or simply "eCareer," the site hopes to make the hiring process clearer for both potential employees and employers.
"This new system will make it even easier for people to apply for City jobs," said Roberta Byram, Human Resources Department. "It’s simpler to use, more secure and enables users to give hiring managers a more accurate assessment of their job skills and career goals."
The existing City employment site is now offline, and users of that previous system are asked to create a new account on eCareer.
