Friday Night: GRITS Rollerboogie!

rollerboogie.jpg

Remember that movie Xanadu? Gat-DAMN Olivia Newton John looked good in those skates. And those shreddy-flappy outfits. I believed she was magic.

Magic enough to usher hundreds of thousands of young boys into the early stages of manhood. And she did it on SKATES. Ridiculous.

The GRITS boys are back from a brief hiatus with their own roller skating shenanigans tomorrow night! In their own words:

Summer is ending, thermophobiacs are thinking about leaving the window unit, and students are gearing up for another grueling semester of putting everything off until the last minute. What better way to roll into fall than on skates? Enter Grits: dance music in a roller rink. Daetron Vargas and The Young Adorable host this party on wheels the final Friday of the month, and have decided to add Merrick Brown as their guest dj for this jump-off. Yes, you can definitely expect classic disco tunes, but the djs will also be pleasing ears with dance music in several of its sundry forms (house, electro, boogie, techno, 70s, 80s, whatevs).

Friday the 25th at Skate World, located 9514 Anderson Mill Road. $8 gets you in AND puts skates on your feet. BYOB (drunks be careful, the floor is hard) 18+ entry, 21+ to drink, party starts at 11pm. Roll deep avec crew.

I'm down as long as they play the Bee Gees.
