Baby It's Hot Outside: Catch the Big Chill This Weekend!

bigchill.gif

Guess what? It's going to be 100+ degrees on Saturday. That might not be news to you, but...guess what else: You can head over to the Texas Culinary Academy from noon-3pm and chill out bigtime with ice cream, sorbets, ice wine, and more. How better to bring your core temperature down to a reasonable degree? And, other than the booze, the event is FREE. Who can say no to free ice cream?

Especially when it's served up all interactive and stuff. You'll be encouraged to vote on the array of exotic ice creams and sorbets, so if you're not fond of mango-kiwi-papaya ice, let your voice be heard! As for the vino, “Miss Jane” Nickles will lead a class about ice wines, and will be on hand to sign her new publication, Winespeak 101. All to the tune of a mere $5.

The good folks over at TCA will also have chilly entertainment for you, from an ice-sculpting contest featuring the creations of their chefs-in-training to cool tunes served up in style by Mr. Thrill.

So come Saturday, if you've come in off the street, and you're beginning to feel the heat, well listen buster, you better start to move your feet over to the Texas Culinary Academy and give yourself a brain freeze or twenty. Apologies to Madness.
