Earlier this morning, Tamara Hoover posted the following announcement to her MySpace blog:
Related:Hello all.
Under advice of my lawyer (and not without great resistance on my part)
I have agreed to settle the matter with AISD out of court.
With this agreement the district asked that I resign my position as an art teacher at Austin High School.
My legal bills were mounting and my lawyer felt that the settlement was in my best interest. : (I am proud of the things that I saw happen through this incident. I saw a city come together and celebrate individuality, diversity and love.
There is work to do. I plan on being right in the middle of it.
Meanwhile, I will get my masters and hopefully teach at a university somewhere.Thank you to everyone who sent words thoughts donations.
I have met some amazing people who inspire hope.I feel sad but it's not all lost. i have made some really great friendships through all of this
I will move forward and do something better.
I am proud to be a part of a growing revolution.
I have learned so much.
with LOVE
in solidarity,
Ms Hoover
(tamara)ps: I have a little something up my sleeve that i will announce in the future.

She doesn't wear sleeves.
I wish her luck and understand her dilema. Clearly Austin High's art department will suffer as a result of this as the other art teacher is the catty tattle-tale that started this debacle.
Any word on what is going to happen to the catty, tattle-tale teacher? I mean, besides the utter disdain and lack of respect from the cool kids for at least the next 5 years?
UNACCEPTABLE.
