Before I launch into this week's batch of ACL previews, a bit of bad news - Feist has unfortunately dropped out of the lineup. Her replacement hasn't been named yet, so hopefully I'll have an update for you by next week, but in the meantime, you too can stalk the schedule.
Remember, you can check out all the previews that have been posted over on my ACL Artist Previews Page. This is what's new this week:
Nada Surf - Forget about the teenage guide to popularity - Nada Surf deserves a second chance. If you've been ignoring this band since their mid-'90s hit, you've missed ten years of excellent albums and even better live performances. (full preview)
Beto and The Fairlanes - Robert "Beto" Skiles has been leading this self-proclaimed "dance-party-jam-band" since the '70s, and their blend of salsa, jazz, swing and world beat is still shaking hips in Austin. (full preview)
John Mayer - Yes, we've all heard "Your Body Is a Wonderland" about 5,000 times more than we would like to. Fortunately, Mayer seems to be dropping the sensitive adult contemporary fare to get in touch with his blues rock roots, and although he's no longer playing with the John Mayer Trio, the next leg of his career promises to keep heading in the same direction. (full preview)
Matt Nathanson - Just another boy with a guitar? Not quite. Not only does Nathanson have an impressive set of 12-string skills, he'll also entertain you throughout his set, and maybe even pull you up on stage if you can sing the girl part of "Loud." (full preview)
KT Tunstall - KT (did you know it's just a different way of spelling "Katie"?) Tunstall's debut album, Eye to the Telescope, just saw a US release several months ago, although the Scottish singer has been treating European audiences to her phenomenal voice and one-man-band performances since last year. (full preview)
Deadboy and the Elephantmen - The duo of Dax Riggs and Tessie Brunet has been drawing comparisons to other two-pices blues acts like The Black Keys and The White Stripes, and it's not just because there are two of them. (full preview)
Tristan Prettyman - This surfer-chick-turned-singer seems poised to follow in the footsteps of everyone's favorite surf troubadour, Jack Johnson. With a style that has her nicknamed "the female Jason Mraz" (Mraz is also her former beau), Prettyman's sweet voice will probably raise her to his level of fame. (full preview)

Nada Surf is one of the best bands I have ever seen live. It was in February at Emo's and I was freezing my ass off but they were some of the best hours of my life, in terms of music.
Deadboy has three members, please check your resources before posting. At least give credit to the old reviews you've copied.
froeschele, i have to agree
nada surf at sxsw at jane day party was one of the highlights of the week. almost makes me want to go to acl. almost.
if only to see rebecca leblanc dance her ass off.
I can't wait to see Nada Surf again...I can't get enough of them. I met them briefly at Lollapalooza and mentioned that I was at the freezing Emo's show. They also recall that show as being pretty amazing too :-).
