In a new weekly feature, we will be profiling a few real estate listings that have either come on the market in the previous week, have been sitting on the market a while and may be ripe for an offer, or that are just kinda funny.
2319 Pruett - Just listed, this is one of several houses currently for sale on Pruett, including a FSBO that we would love to get more information on. The house is kinda small, but it looks good and is cheaper than most in Deep Eddy (probably because of its proximity to apartments). |
1619 Holly - Just listed, a nice sized house on the Lower East Side, very close to Town Lake. It appears to have retained a fair amount of original detail, at least the floors and wainscotting. |
1909 34th - Ripe for an offer, this Brykerwoods house has been sitting on the market a while, probably because of the highway visible as you drive up. Otherwise, it is a great looking house with a beautiful yard. |
2101 E 13th St - Hmm. At least you'll be safe from the big bad wolf. |

these are all nice pads, but a good two times out of my price range. how about scouting one or two properties next time in the 100-200 range for the prospective first time home buyers in the audience?
I'm with you Derek! These are awesome properties but way out of my price range. How about something a single mom can afford without having to relocate many, many miles from where I work and play. I know, I'm dreaming there's nothing like that in the city anymore.
That said, this is a nice new feature for Austinist - I'd love to see a follow up story on Austinist readers who purchase something they originally see listed here - kinda like a love connection!
We bought our house out near Brodie north of Slaughter for $133K 3 years ago. Probably about $145K now...You gotta live far South to afford anything. But we got a 3 bdrm 1500 sq. ft. and a yard. Nice neighborhood.
Tell someone to open a coffeeshop up in the strip mall that opened near a bunch of new condos on Brodie near Alexandria. We need a neighborhood coffeeshop. All that mall has right now is a mortgage place, cleaners, tax advisors and insurance company. Boring!
