Out the Other's ACL Previews: Son Volt, Willie Nelson, The Long Winters and More

Another week, another batch of ACL bands from my Austin City Limits Festival Artist Previews Page. Here's the latest:
Son Volt - After seven years and four solo albums, Jay Farrar returned to the studio with Son Volt and emerged last year with Okemah and the Melody of Riot, and proof that his group is still one of the best country-influenced rock bands out there. (full preview)
The Long Winters - After about four years and a ridiculous number of lineup changes, Seattle's John Roderick and company released the excellent Putting the Days to Bed last month, officially getting my attention. Definitely a band I'm looking forward to seeing at the festival. (full preview)
Husky Rescue - Helsinki's Husky Rescue is supposedly Marko Nyberg's project alone, but his debut Country Falls was created with the help of 20 Finnish friends, and his five-person touring band are responsible for bringing the dreamy, expansive music he creates to the stage. (full preview)
Los Lobos - Just another band from East L.A.? I think not. Los Lobos have been at it for more than thirty years, and in guest previewer John's first post, he gives us a look at the band's lengthy career, as well as what they've been up to lately. (full preview)
Danielia Cotton - This soulful blues-rock singer has been drawing comparisons to Tina Turner, the Rolling Stones and Janis Joplin, and my guess is that Cotton may have one of the most impressive set of pipes you'll hear at this year's festival. (full preview)
Willie Nelson - Guest previewer and Texas boy JD gives us a look at Texas boy Willie Nelson, still going strong almost fifty years after his first single was released. As busy as ever, the singer is still playing, putting out albums, and even recently founded his own biodiesel company. (full preview)
Kathleen Edwards - Canada's Kathleen Edwards was forced to cancel her appearance at last year's festival due to Hurricane Rita; hopefully this year nothing will keep the singer-songwriter from sharing her talent with the crowd. (full preview)
Jack Ingram - A girl from Nashville probably isn't the best source of info about frat-boy Texas rocker Jack Ingram, but I'll take your word for it that he's a local favorite. After about ten years and ten albums, Ingram is still touring relentlessly and becoming a staple at ACL. (full preview)
Anathallo - This large group of young multi-instruments is currently touring with The Format, treating audiences (so I hear) to their unique brand of folk/experimental, which features everything from guitar and drums to flugelhorn and velcro. (full preview)
