Floyd Landis: Too Good to be True

phphruO90.crop.jpg

Team Phonak has confirmed that Floyd Landis returned a Positive A sample after his stage win (17th Stage) in the Tour de France. The team announced that, "management and the rider were both totally surprised of this physiological result". Unfortunately, the rest of the cycling world isn't. The unusually high ratio of Testosterone/Epitestosterone will also be tested in the "backup sample" to confirm the results but don't hold your breath.

It should also be noted that some athletes naturally have high level of this TE in their body. This, of course, can be proven by another battery of tests. So while Floyd pulls out of the the Dutch Criterium race in Silkeborg and becomes a human guinea pig for the UCI lets hope for all of cycling's sake that his team is telling the truth. Just in case though, does anyone know if you can actually cancel OLN?
