Dinner, Drinks and Dirt

dirt.jpgJoin the Austin Film Festival folks for a very special screening of Dirt, winner of AFF's Best Documentary Feature award at last year's festival, tonight at the Alamo Lake Creek. The screening kicks off a series at the Alamo LC that features some of the best from last year's fest.

Dirt follows a season inside the world street stock racing at the legendary Devils Bowl Speedway, in Mesquite, Texas.

Featured in the documentary is, Gayla Jones a pink firesuit-clad pioneer of the sport and the first and only woman driver at the Devils Bowl. Competing against her husband, Andy, as well as gender stereotyping and track bullies, Jones fights to survive the season.

This movie was an amazing hit at last year's festival. We had several people give us unsolicited recommendations of it last fall. Read: you should check it out.

And…

Filmmaker Jeff Bowden and driver Gayla Jones be in attendance for a Q&A.

In true Alamo fashion, the evening will feature a dirt track-inspired menu.
