Backroom's Farewell Show This Saturday

As we mentioned a month ago, The Backroom, Austin’s fortress of heavy metal and defender of all things sweaty, boot-stomping and angst-ridden will be shutting its doors for good next week. But not before the legendary Austin rock club gives it one last hurrah.

The Backroom’s farewell show will kick off this Saturday at noon. Forlornly entitled “The Backroom’s Alamo,” the all-day and all-night throwdown will involve very cheap beer/liquor and plenty of hard rock for all you headbangers out there. It should be a good and messy time. Hopefully no one will get trampled or hit over the head with a tire iron, but let’s withhold judgment until Monday rolls around.

From noon until 8:30 p.m., there’s no cover. From 9 p.m. until close, cover is $7. The full band schedule for the whole day is here.
