Mod Buckles Receive a Modern Reception: Mark Joiner at Eliza Page

markjoiner.jpg

You've seen Mark Joiner belt buckles, even if you haven't even realized it. They are stunning in their mod appeal and nothing less than perfect creations in themselves. Both impressively geometric and intricately color-balanced, these belt buckles leave their the rest of an outfit looking almost insignificant.

Sure, glass buckles are fashionable, but these take the cake -- not the fruitcake, mind you, but the three tiered chocolate and vanilla cake. Each buckle is made by hand, while each piece of glass is masterfully cut to fit perfectly in place. At 1450 degrees, the buckle and glass are finally fused together in a kiln, then treated by Joiner two more times before finding itself on a belt.

Recently featured in June's edition of Texas Monthly as well as Tribeza and the Statesman, Joiner has joined a Dallas showroom at the Fashion Industry Galleries.

Stop by Eliza Paige this Thursday the 27th for a free reception all about Mark Joiner. Eliza Page will host a large selection of Joiner's designs at the reception, with cocktails and music.
