Martha Stewart's been a busy (and fabulous) bee in the year and a half since being released from Alderson Federal Prison. In these past few months she's: announced a lucrative partnership with Kodak, opened the first in a series of Martha Stewart-designed model townhomes, was crowned "Godmother of Princess Cruises," launched a new line of merch at Macy's ("i LOVE THE NEW CLOTHES LINE" says Maryland fan Dayneisha), published a book, and agreed to take part in next year's South Beach Wine & Food Festival.
The business mogul and undisputed arbiter of Hampton-chic style will also serve as keynote speaker at this year's seventh annual Texas Conference for Women, alongside Houston gospel singer Yolanda Adams. To be held on October 12th at the Austin Convention Center, the conference -- co-hosted by Mister and Missus Governor Perry -- features a bevy of seminars with panelists who are arguably titans of their particular industries. In Texas First Lady Anita Perry's words, it's "the premier event for Texas women seeking both personal and professional growth."
Others scheduled to talk are Judge Glenda Hatchett, Georgia's first African American chief presiding judge of a state court and the take-no-prisoners host on Judge Hatchett; Roxanne Wilson, the Austin lawyer from last season's The Apprentice; and a dude who taught at Harvard Medical School and authored a book called Crazy Busy.
More than 7,500 people are expected to attend, making this one of the most viable networking opportunities around. Registration is $90 on or before September 12.
