Austinist Giveaway: Brightblack Morning Light at Emo's, Tonight
Indie/hippie hobos nomads Brightblack Morning Light released their self-titled sophomore album just weeks ago, and while we didn't particularly care for it, others seem to generally dig 'em. The duo -- "Nabob" (Nathan Shineywater) and "Rabob" (Rachael Hughes) -- started back in 2002 with a split 7" shared with Bonnie Prince Billy (aka Will Oldham, among others). Since then, they've signed to Matador Records, toured with the likes of Joanna Newsom, Vetiver, and Gojogo, and picked up a few extra bandmates. Reportedly, Nabob and Rabob still prefer to spend the more agreeable months of the year living in tents in rural Northern California.
Tonight, they're bringing their particular brand of mellow stoner rock to Emo's inside with Daniel Higgs (of Lungfish) and Mariee Souix. Check out their short bio (self-penned, we think) to the right, and enter our contest below for your chance to win a pair of tickets to the show!
