Screenings: Held Over Jean-Luc Godard's Week End

godard.jpgA Scanner Darkly was the hot ticket last night, and we even saw a few of you sneaking into Superman Returns at the South Lamar Alamo. If you missed the rare opportunity to see Jean-Luc Godard’s masterpiece projected on a big screen, here is the word straight from Austin Film Society Programming Director, Chale Nafus:

Since some of you (were) at the premiere of A Scanner Darkly (Wednesday night), we are considering showing Jean-Luc Godard's Week End again this Friday, the 30th at 2:00 p.m. in the AFS Screening Room. This would be the same 35mm print we (were) showing (last night) at the Alamo, at the same time as Scanner Darkly. However, in order to pay for the Friday projectionist ($200) we will need to charge for tickets, AFS member or not, in the range of $5, to no more than $10, depending on how many people attend. The screening room can hold up to 40 people. If you are 90% positive that you'd come on Friday at 2:00 p.m., please send me an e-mail (chale@austinfilm.org) by tomorrow (Thursday, 29th) with an indication of the maximum you could pay. Please do not respond if you only halfway think you might be able to come. Once I have compiled the list (hopefully, 40) I will let you know if the screening will be happening.
