- Local: The Austin City Council has decided to reduce the speed limit in three Austin neighborhoods from 30 miles to 25. In addition, they have given the green light to require Austin residents to reduce their water consumption by 1% for the next 10 years.
- State: Texas Secretary of State Roger Williams has until September to decide whether Carole Cougar Mellencamp can use the nickname, "Grandma," on the ballot in November. We are happy to report that it seems Kinky will remain "Kinky."
- Nat'l: Guess what? There are still no WMDs in Iraq.
- World: Russia's Foreign Ministry has summoned North Korea's ambassador regarding Pyongyang's planned launch of a long-range missile.
- Weird: The Ecuador World Cup squad incorporates the use of its very own witch doctor in their efforts to bring home the prize. Tzamarenda Naychapi is an Ecuadorian Indian who uses "magic" for controlling events, according to the Sun. Watch out England!
