AusChron sheds Power and Light on the Theatre Scene

pandl.jpg

Elizabeth Cobbe, our esteemed colleague over at the Austin Chronicle, has put together a great article profiling the top ten up-and-comers in Austin's "rebel" theatre scene. As you may have noticed, Austinist has a weak spot for rebellious types, so we were excited to find the new punks on the block listed in one handy, helpful spot. (And to give full disclosure we were indeed pleased the company co-helmed by Austinist's own Jonathon Morgan is firmly on radar.)

To further assist you in your fringe theatre seeking, we've relisted AusChron's Troublemaking Ten in order of upcoming production. Consider this your guide to summer (and fall) theatre in Austin -- these are the shows you're gonna wanna see! We've also added links so you can keep up with these companies your own self.

Loaded Gun Theory's "Bitten!: A Zombie Rock Odyssey" we'll be at the Dougherty Arts Center for two weeks, we'll be taking a two week hiatus, and then it will be popping up again like an undead being at Arts on Real.

Thanks for compiling this list, btw. I liked the article, but not having artist websites made it a bit hard to go find more info.
