With half of the band constantly touring with Voxtrot and half of the remaining half (or, one) moving to New York, we were sad but not terribly shocked to hear that Austin's indie pop kids Belaire are bidding us adieu. While they're not technically over over, they're at least not performing for the immediate future after tonight's "goodbye show" at the Parish, where they'll be playing in rented tuxedos. Come cheer them on and rock out as well with Magic Surprise, Zom Zoms and Loxsly. Super!Alright! to provide visuals. (The Parish Room, $5, 9pm)
Learning Secrets' Ian Orth -- think Thursday nights at Whisky Bar and Saturdays at Beauty Bar -- is bringing NY hotshit DJ Tim Sweeney back to Austin tonight, straight from Brazil, for a super special set at the aforementioned Whisky. Like we told you back when he was first here a month ago, Sweeney's the wiz kid behind WNYU's beats in space, part of the DFA Compilation #2, and the soundtrack for the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: San Bernadino. He was also just nominated as one of NYC's Top Party DJs. Orth's managed to strong-arm Scion into donating a bunch of corporate swag to give away as well. Drink specials till midnight. (Whisky Bar, $3, 10pm)

Thank God for that. Belaire's awful caterwauling, annoying plinky plonky keyboards and general lack of musical finesse will not be missed by anyone who can actually hear. What a bunch of overhyped scene fucks. May their "hiatus" be long and unfruitful.
may cranky get hit by a truck and tastes its own blood. spineless, internet cool people fucking annoy me. if you could actually tell them all that in their faces. you bitch.
