Austinist Could Totally Use a Vaykay

Austin Business Journal reports on a new Austin-based website that launched recently called HomeAway, which lists over 60,000 vacation rentals around the world -- their listings span something like 90 countries and [may] eventually include castles, chalets, chateaus, houseboats and yurts.

It looks like a good deal for both vacationers and homeowners alike -- for the latter, listing your property costs about $300 per year and seems to take the hassle out of finding prospective renters. And vacationers have quite a few options to choose from, such as these Lake Travis properties we randomnly dug up:

"Lake Travis Waterfront House with Boat Dock & Hot Tub" 3 bed/2 bath
Sleeps 13
$2,500 per week
"Lake Travis Waterfront Townhouse on Protected Cove with Covered Boat Dock"
5 bed/4 bath
Sleeps 16
$1,475 for two nights
"Guesthouse in Quiet Upscale Central Neighborhood with Indoor Heated Pool / Spa"
1 bed/1 bath
Sleeps 4
$1,100 for two nights

Those of you with friends coming in for Austin City Limits might consider directing them to this site, if you're outta couch space.
