Austinist Giveaway: We Are Scientists Prize Package

csn6582-001-MF.jpgNew York/California indie rock trio We Are Scientists are one of the most entertaining bands around, in part because of their punchy pop-punk sound but even more because of their offbeat sense of humor: on the official W.A.S. website, the lanky lads offer an advice column, in which they tackle all manners of ridiculous problems from fans ("I'm worried about the size of my cat's penis/the other cats are laughing"), and also frequently update a reviews feature, where they comment on everything from the 2004 "Keelboat" Nickel to the Pun-Based Sign At the Manchester Metro Premier Travel Inn Front Desk. Having released their impressive major-label debut, With Love and Squalor, earlier this year, the Scientists are currently on tour with Sheffield "NME band" Arctic Monkeys. Both will be in town tomorrow night for a show at Stubb's outdoors -- tickets are still available online.

In conjunction with their show in Austin tomorrow night (at Stubb's outdoors), we're giving away a sweet We Are Scientists prize package with the following:

  • "Nobody Moves, Nobody Get Hurt" Single
  • "The Great Escape" Single
  • "The Great Escape" Single/DVD
  • With Love and Squalor Full Length CD
  • We Are Scientists Poster

We might also have a pair of tickets for our lucky winner to the show tomorrow night, but we'll have to get back to you on that later. Simply fill out the form below to enter!

UPDATE: Congrats, Matthew Dinan!

In the meantime, check out the new W.A.S. video for "It's a Hit," where you can see the boys boxing and losing a lot of blood. Or check out the hilarious youtube clip of frontman Keith Murray accepting an award on behalf of Arctic Monkeys.

I really can't emphasize enough how good those kiddos are, and unless that link is pointing people in the direction of some scalper, the show is, and has been for some time now, sold out.
