Meet Tito Tonight!

tito.jpgBack before SXSW, we had a chance to meet the folks behind Tito's Vodka, the only (legal) distillery in Texas and makers of Austinist's vodka of choice. Tito Beveridge, the man behind it all, gave us a tour of the modest facilities where the magic all happens -- we discovered that he, like the rest of the Tito's company family, is one hell of a nice fellow. And, if given the chance, he'll talk your ear off with his awe-inspiring story of how a former geologist managed to craft one of the most highly-acclaimed handmade spirits around. Mind you, we were captivated by his tale even after having enjoyed a few swigs of his 180-proof, pre-watered vodka. At ten in the morning.

All of this is just our way of encouraging you to head over to the Continental Club today from 5-7, because Tito himself will be hosting a meet-'n-greet of sorts, as part of a new TV show being produced about brewers, distillers, and winemakers. You're going to be down there for First Thursday anyways -- why not let him buy you a drink?
