*Update: The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale. Tim, you sly dog, you.*
An unidentified member of the Texas Longhorns' National Championship team has put his championship ring on Ebay. The bidding apparently started at about $7,200 and is now at $10,599. The auction ends in about 60 hours, so start rolling your loose change and head on over to Cheapo with your old cds.
[from the item description]
This is NOT a sample! It is an official ring that was given to a former player! Also this stunning 10K yellow gold ring is in excellent condition and was made by Jostens. On the top of the Championship Ring is a raised number one with burnt orange sides, and will glimmer everywhere you wear it! On the left side of the Championship Ring is a rendition of the ADT National Championship Trophy (with a diamond in the place of the crystal football), along with the Texas Longhorns' 13 - 0 Record, and Big XII Champions slogan streaming across the top. On the right is the player's name, T.D.A./45-6 (which stands for "Taking Dead Aim": The Longhorns Motto for the 2005-06 Season, and the team's record for the past 3 seasons), the player's position, the score 41-38 from the National Championship game, the Longhorn logo, and the Rose Bowl Logo.
For those of you who think that the ring may belong to a certain running back who was recently arrested on weapons and drug charges and may now be trying to raise some fundage for his attorneys, there is a disclaimer at the end of the post stating that this is "NOT the ring of a player who may have been dismissed from the team."
So there's that.
