The Statesman and KGSR are reporting that Austin music legend and club owner Clifford Antone has passed away. After a few rough years, Antone had taken back control of the booking at his club earlier this year. We have no specifics as to the cause of death or funeral arrangements.

Pretty much a shock to the system. He was directly responsible for helping, if not making, Austin's music industry what it is today. I owe him a lot.

NO ONE has details on how he died. I've literally heard/read at least 10 stories on this but no one mentions the details of his death, you're the first people I've heard even mention you don't know.
