Toxic Shots Photo Exhibit

We respect the hell out of concert photographers; they manage to take awesome photos while expertly dodging meathead security guards, wayward elbows and flying steel-toed boots. At the same time, we loathe the irritating bastards – partly because they distract us with their incessant flashing, but mostly because no matter how hard we try, our own attempts at concert photography usually fail spectacularly, yielding little more than a pile of purple-red streaks that just might be Ian MacKaye.

Jealousy aside, we feel obliged to let you know that End of an Ear is paying tribute to some of Austin’s bravest, most talented shutterbugs with the elaborately titled, Toxic Shots: Yowzas! Busted cameras and broken teeth. A photo exhibit of action shots from the underground. The event runs until Saturday, but tonight’s opening reception will feature DJs, refreshments, and live music.
