True Stories Can Be Stranger Than Fiction [Extra Extra ]
We just read a leaked report of the ACL Fest Lineup, to be officially announced on Thursday. The report comes from Dallas Observer entertainment guru Robert Wilonsky. As we said, this is just a leaked report and therefore considered a rumor, but this source is about as good as they get. Of course, we hope there are a few more of our favorites coming but won't hold our breath. Have a look for yourself and tell us what you think. We have no idea of the times and exact days for each artist (except that Petty is headlining the fest) but have listed them more or less in order of interest.

Looks to me to be the most solid lineup yet, though.
I bet that guy from Showgazer.net will spend the $115+ so he can continue his fanboy support of the Black Angels... while also bitching and moaning about it nonstop. :)
i second that, james. neil young would be sweet. and where is wilco? it would be sad if they didnt come back again :(
mcmANUS, while you are correct about my fanboy support of the angels, i'm sticking to my guns on the boycott... not necessarily because i hate acl and the way that they handled the presale, but because i just don't find this year's lineup all that exciting. however, i would really like to see wolf parade, the lips, tom petty, the shins, willie, massive attack, and of course, the black angels. surely atleast some of these bands will play other shows around town during the festival, most likely not in sweltering, dust-bowl conditions.
and in case you didn't know, acl actually handled the mishap with the presale about as well as they could, sending out "goodie packages" to all of those that complained about the process. i'm sure it won't be complimentary tickets, but it's something.
