The University of Texas and Oklahoma University have agreed to a new 5-year contract that will keep the rivalry game at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas until 2010. Some were worried that Texas would pull out at the end of the previous contract, and possibly replace the game with a match-up against Arkansas or a home-and-home with OU. The teams did not demand renovations to the old crappy stadium in Dallas.
In a press release from UT, Athletic Director DeLoss Dodds said, "We have enjoyed a long and storied relationship with the State Fair of Texas. The experience has been wonderful. The game is a tradition. We have a great working relationship with State Fair officials and I credit President Errol McKoy and Pete Schenkel (Dallas businessman and former chairman of the State Fair of Texas) for making this extension a reality."
Glad the game is staying in Dallas? Wish they would move it to Norman and Austin? Or don't care at all?

Dallas is fine by me. Who really wants to drive to Oklahoma? I get nervous driving in Texas north of 635. And Austin has its fair share of debaucherous festivals...SXSW, ROT, Tarantino Film Festival, UIL badmitton finals. We don't need another drunken rage weekend fueled by the greatest football rivalry ever.
