Dionysium to Resolve Hot Topic of Outsourcing American Jobs to Lower-Paid Foreign Workers

dionysium background

The Dionysium is back tonight and this month's debate is to resolve the very hot topic of whether or not outsourcing American jobs to lower-paid foreign workers is good for the United States.

So if you're up for a stimulating and "unique program of debate, lecture, declamation, theatrical presentation and music in a salon-like atmosphere," this one, as always, is for you. They also often play a short film and finish off the night of revelry with a drinking song to boot.

Here's this month's program for tonight:

A PRESENTATION
"On Beanie Babies"
by Sinus Show Legend John Erler

A DEBATE
"Resolved: That outsourcing American jobs to lower-paid foreign workers is good for the United States."
For the affirmative: Future attorney John R. Leinen
For the negative: Lesley Nicole Ramsey of the Texas Fair Trade Coalition

THE DIONYSIUM RECOMMENDS
Dionysium Program Director Mike O'Connor will recommend the book American Dream: Three Women, Ten Kids, and a Nation's Drive to End Welfare by Jason DeParle

    Anyone heart about soma?

I visited a lot of sites that offer to buy soma online but dont know what it is

Can you explain what soma is?

  • The Vatican and condoms? Bwa ha ha ha!

"Irresponsibilities with regard to birth control"?

    Ho ho ho!

OMG, what about the pure, sniveling idiocy of keeping a deathgrip on ancient superstitions predicated on the idea of an invisible superhero in the sky?

People who give a rat's ass about what the whole Vatican crowd may or may not think? They deserve the sort of troubles they get.

Don't like it? Really? Imagine: no religion.

We aren't actually employed by Dionysium to record minutes. However, there is a forum on their site where you can discuss things at http://www.dionysium.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi and also on their main page, you can post suggestions for debate topics.

Can you guys post "minutes" on this meeting? Are any of you going to go? I can't make it but I'd love to hear some arguments. Did anybody notice the bit in the Statesman today about the vatican finally "considering" condoms as okay for married couples? I thought the headline was a bit ironic. "In the Face of HIV..." as if married couples are the ones at risk. Oh I could go on about the vatican's irresponsibilities with regard to birth control, but I guess it's off-topic. Another (or a past?) Dionysium perhaps. Please discuss;)
