- Bush thoroughly shocks us by first easing clean air rules to help produce more gasoline, and then choosing FOX News guy Tony Snow to be his Press Secretary. (/sarcasm)
- APD is using MySpace and blogs to help solve cases. It seems people can't help but post about their troubles.
- Caldwell Prejean of Austin has been named Volunteer of the Year by Catholic Charities. Prejean helped start Seeds of Hope, a nonprofit that works with the families and children of prisoners.
- In comparison, another Austinite traded on the goodwill of others to benefit herself. An AISD employee traded in goods donated for Katrina evacuees for store credit and bought herself a dinette set.

- Former Longhorn Ricky Williams has been suspended from the NFL for a full year.
