East Side Pies. They Know What We Want. ESP. Get it?

You know who’s a genius? Anyone who eats their pizza pie at East Side Pies, that’s who.
How do we know this? Well, we’ve been knowing Noah Polk (and his business partner Michael Freid) was up to something big ever since he started hinting around about his new project at the old Fish ‘R’ Us restaurant when he was tending bar at the Long Branch Inn.
Here’s the deal: even if you live as far as, say, Dripping Springs – we insist you go immediately to ESP and eat at least one slice of the Guiche (spinach, goat cheese, green chiles, sun-dried tomato and roasted garlic) and at least one slice of anything with Italian sausage. We demand that you congratulate Noah and Michael on the iron work they've commissioned to adorn their building. Tell them you’re glad they have the little slate tables from (moment of silence) Mojo’s Daily Grind. Tell them you’re from Texas, so even though you can’t intrinsically talk pizza crust like a yankee, you can tell it’s a little bit like magic. Tell them. They deserve it.
So, yeah. We sat there on their cozy little patio the other night, sipping on an orange Jarrito’s after stuffing our big fat faces silly, and we spied the lovely and talented Barbara Frisbie of the Frisbie Design Concern picking up a pizza for her ridiculously talented family. After a little chat, Barbara confirmed our suspicions – these guys are geniuses and all the cool kids are already finding out.
Go now. Say you knew them when.
Oh yeah, one more thing. If you yourself want to be a little bit of a genius, order your pizza to go, and shuffle up the street to the Long Branch where there’s a juke box, beer, maybe even a split of some ice-cold Cava. Duh.
