Young Inks First in What Will Be a Long Line of Endorsement Deals

The NFL Draft may not be until this weekend, but Vince Young is already getting paid. Young has said all along that he is a Longhorn at heart, will always be a Longhorn and will always come back to Austin. This week he put his money where his mouth is when he signed a deal with local business NetSpend.
The deal, including incentives, is worth $10 million. The company, started by two fellow UT alumni, provides pre-paid debit cards, offering young people an alternative to going into heavy credit debt. Young said that his family told him when he left for college to stay away from those too-good-to-be-true credit card deals most companies throw at college students. He said he wanted to make sure his first endorsement came with a company that had some social responsibility.
βI told my uncle, you know, the image I want to have,β Young said. βIt's not all about the money. It's about giving back and helping.β
As part of the deal, the University of Texas College of Communication gets a $10,000 scholarship.
Now for the real interesting part, which NFL player personnel executive will actually have the balls and foresight to draft the MJ of the gridiron?
