Concert Update: Fiona Apple, Black Crowes Hit The Backyard This Summer

music final 2.jpg

Last week, we posted a major concert update for May and June. If you missed it, just click the Expand-O-Tron for the recap. You're welcome. This week has already brought a flurry of updates including two new shows at The Backyard. Here they are (Austinist looks out):

5/28 - Eagles Of Death Metal @ The Parish Room
6/03 - Film School + Margot & The Nuclear So-And-Sos @ Emo's
6/10 - Radio 4 + Small Sins @ The Parish Room
6/16 - The Streets + Lady Sovereign @ La Zona Rosa
7/03 - The Black Crowes + Drive-By Truckers @ The Backyard
7/08 - Fiona Apple + Damien Rice + David Garza @ The Backyard

In other news, ACL Fest has a contest going called 'Scavenger Hunt' where they provide clues to artists playing this year's festival. So far, they've let us know that Son Volt, Los Lonely Boys, New Pornographers, and The Shins will be in Austin come September. We're saying it now: Pearl Jam will be the big May announcement from ACL. We totally have no source for this, but it'll turn out to be true all the same.

  • You can't be 26256 serious?!?

  • Greg

Those dates are NOW posted on Pearl Jam's site...looks like solace was correct. Good! Now I can continue with the boycott after that pre-sale fiasco.

  • Tom, pretty positive, yeah

i mean i know they will be in Europe starting August 18th (their first announced date tho is Reading/Leeds on the 25th & 27th (i believe), but they will definitely be in Europe through the end of Sept, and then head to Australia in November.

  • Tom

Are you sure? That's not on Pearl Jam's website, nor is it on Pollstar.

I like the More Cowbell site. Great tour info always.

  • there is no possible way Pearl Jam will be playing Austin City Limits Festival this year, and the reason being, they will be playing in Italy the weekend of ACL:

    14 Sept Bologna (Palamalaguti)

    16 Sept Verona (Arena)

    17 Sept Milano (Datchforum)

    19 Sept Torino (Palaisozaki)

    20 Sept Pistoia (Piazza Duomo)

  • Declan McManus

CSE & Mr. Attal are actively working to get Pearl Jam according to enough people who work there/for him that it's more than a rumor at this point.

  • odam

Mookie Blaylock is playing ACL? awesome!

but, yes, i agree with tom, it will be PJ.

now let's all say hooray that Damien Rice is back in the states.

  • pearl jam? that would be awesome. what makes you say this? drugs perhaps?
