Que Onda Guero? Beck at the Backyard!

becktix.jpg

Yeah, we know he's a little wacky a la Tom Cruise, but we still adore Beck and his unpredictable blend of funk, rock, and pop. In fact, his recent album "Guero" is one of our favorites, ever. Seriously - ever. If you don't have it, rush out and get it now. Seriously - now.

And if you heart Beck as much as we do, you'll want to know that he's coming to the Backyard on June 19th. You'll also want to jump on the ticket pre-sale, which begins at 10:00 a.m. today and ends at 10 p.m. tomorrow, by clicking here and entering the password VENOMCONFECTION. Regular ticket sales start Saturday and you can get 'em at the usual suspects: GetTix.Net, Waterloo Records, Pinky's Wireless, and Charge By Phone at 866-I-GET-TIX.

  • I stopped listening to Guero two weeks after I downloaded it from bittorrent. That was roughly around the same time that I learned he was a scientologist, so that's a factor, but the album also stank.

    $42. hah.

I think the last time I shelled out that much cash for a single show was actually the Beck/Flaming Lips show at Bass Concert Hall. It was my 3rd time seeing him, and I've been very satisfied each time, but I'll skip this one strictly on economics. I can buy a 1.75L of Citadelle gin for less than the amount of ticket.

I can't remember the last time I was willing to dish out $42 bucks for a show. Not sure if Beck makes it worthwhile.
